The School Completion Programme serving Palmerstown, Esker & Lucan
East invites applications for the above fixed purpose contract for the
position of Co-ordinator.
THE POSITION
* The Co-ordinator will work alongside the Co-ordinator, project
staff, Chairperson & the local management committee.
* The co-ordinator will be responsible for the implementation &
delivery of the SCP plan drawn up in conjunction with the Local
Management Committee.
* The Co-ordinator will identify & respond to the educational
welfare needs of targeted children, in particular those identified as
?at risk? of early school leaving.
* Organise & facilitate the provision of in-school, out-of-school,
after school & holiday time supports for identified children & young
people in the primary & post primary schools in the cluster.
* Delivery of one to one and group programmes & interventions to
identified young people in the cluster.
* Work collaboratively with School Principals, Care Teams, Home
School Community Liaison Co-ordinators, Educational Welfare Officers &
other professionals using the SCP Intake Framework to identify the
young people to be targeted by the project & to plan appropriate
interventions.
* Participate in attendance and care team meetings.
* Lead the School Completion Programme staff team, providing support
and supervision.
* Participate in training organised by Tusla.
* Prepare the annual retention plan and the annual report.
* Monitor and evaluate the quality of the programme.
* Oversee day to day expenditure of the programme & keep accurate
records of payments & receipts, working within the budget constraints
of the programme.
* Reporting to the SCP Chairperson & Local Management Committee as
required.
* Cooperate with Tusla requirements in relation to the evaluation &
audit of the programme & the collection of data & furnishing of
reports required on a timely basis.
* To adhere to all relevant school policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
* A third level qualification to degree level in social care,
community work, education or a related discipline.
* Experience in managing, leading & supporting a team of staff.
* Knowledge & experience of logic model planning.
* Full Irish driving licence & access to a car.
* Experience in managing budgets would be desirable.
* Ability to develop and deliver programmes to meet the needs of
children and young people.
* Practical experience of working with young people within a
supportive environment either in one to one or group settings.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Computer literacy essential.
* A good understanding of the Irish education system.
* An understanding of Educational Disadvantage.
* A non judgemental, creative and positive attitude.
* The ability to work within a flexible and child centred approach.
* The ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a
team.
* The ability to develop, facilitate and evaluate educational and
skills based programmes.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS FOR THE ROLE:

position will require flexibility in relation to working hours.
* An approved pay-scale applies to this post, which is aligned with
the Youthreach Co-ordinator pay-scale.
* The employment base for this post will be at Pobalscoil Iosolde,

commencing employment.
